چکیده

The nucleotide sequence of a clone containing mouse carbonic anhydrase (CA) eDNA in pBR322 has been determined. The cloned eDNA contains all of the coding region except for nueleotides specifying the first eight amino acids, and all of the 3' noncoding region, which consists of 700 nucleotides. A eDNA clone was identified which contains an additional 54 bp at the 5' end, so that the complete amino acid sequence of mouse CA could be deduced. This sequence showed a 73-81% homology with other mammalian CA form II isozymes, 56--63 with form I isozymes, and 52-56 ~o with form III isozymes. By examination of the amino acids which are unique and invariant for each isozyme, the mouse amino acid sequence was found to contain 16 of the 23 residues that are unique and invariant to mammalian CA form II isozymes, but only one or no residue for forms I and III, respectively.

Cloned cDNA for rabbit erythrocyte carbonic anhydrase I: A novel erythrocyte-specific probe to study development in erythroid tissues.

Present understanding of gene expression in erythropoietic tissues is derived solely from studies of the globin genes. Of the three distinct carbonic anhydrase (carbonate dehydratase; carbonate hydro-lyase, EC 4.2.1.1) isozymes, carbonic anhydrase I is erythrocyte-specific and, in humans, is under developmental control. The appearance of carbonic anhydrase I in the erythrocyte late in fetal lif...

Study of Glycation Process of Human Carbonic Anhydrase II and Investigation of Effect of Fasting On Enzyme Activity by Using Spectroscopic Methods

Background: Glycation is the non-enzymatic reaction between the carbonyl groups in sugar and free amino groups in proteins. this reaction leads to changes in structure and functions of proteins. Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) is the final stage in this process, which is highly oxidizing and destructive nature, causing many diabetic complications. Methods: In the present investigation, ...

Variation in the primary structure of carbonic anhydrase B in man, great apes, and old world monkeys.

-The amino acid compositions and sequences of 15 homologous tryptic peptides of carbonic anhydrase B from man and 7 Old World primates were compared. Of the 133 residues examined, differences were noted at 8 presumably homologous sites. Chimpanzee and man differed at only one site, whereas orangutan and man differed at four sites. The four monkey species differed from man by four to 6 residues....

Effect of long-term oral administration of extra thyroxine on oviductal expression of carbonic anhydrase and avidin-related protein-2 genes in broiler breeder hens

Avian sperm are stored in the sperm storage tubules (SSTs) of the hen oviduct for a prolonged period. The impact of avidin-related protein-2 (AVRP2) and carbonic anhydrase II (CA II) in sperm viability in the SSTs has been suggested. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of oral administration of a high dose of thyroxine on the oviductal expression of AVRP2<...
